We’ve teamed up with David Kappel, who is well-known in South Africa’s punting streets and he will give us his best Uefa Champions League bets for the week. Europe’s elite club competition is back and it usually promises two things: goals and favourites to win. Let’s have a look at this week’s fixtures.
Schaffhausen v Thun: Over 2.5 goals
This game promises goals, 8 of their last 10 meetings had over 2.5 goals, while all of Schaffhausen’s last 5 games had over 2.5 goals and 8 of Thun’s last 9 meetings had over 2.5 too.
Cliftonville v Warrenpoint: Cliftonville Over 1.5 Goals
Cliftonville are in the middle of the title race and have won their last 9 games against bottom-placed Warrenpoint. They’ve only failed to score at least 2 in one of those 9 matches.
Chelsea v Lille: Chelsea win
Chelsea have won their last 5 games in all competitions and are the favourites for this tie. Lille, meanwhile, have only collected 2 wins from their last 7 matches. The two teams met twice in 2019, with the Blues winning both.
Villarreal v Juventus: Juve win/draw
Villarreal come into this game in decent form, having gone without a defeat in 4 games – including a 0-0 draw with Real Madrid. However, Juventus also seem to have found their form after a slow start. They are unbeaten in 7 games in all competitions.
Burnley v Tottenham: Tottenham win/draw
Spurs enter the game on the back of their sensational 3-2 win over Manchester City, while Burnley also collected three points against Brighton. However, that was their only win in their last 13 games, while Spurs also beat them in their last 3 clashes.
Watford v Palace: Over 8.5 Corners
Both teams are battling relegation and 4 of the last 5 clashes had over 10.5 corners. In addition, 4 of Watford’s last 5 games also had over 10.5 corners.
Fulham v Peterborough: Fulham win
Fulham are the best team in the Championship and are scoring goals for fun, while Peterborough are second from bottom. Fulham lost on the weekend and will be keen to get back to winning ways.
Liverpool v Leeds: Liverpool win/over 2.5 goals
Liverpool have won their last 8 games, while Leeds United’s defence is really bad this season. 8 of Leed’s last 10 games had over 2.5 goals.
Benfica v Ajax: Ajax win/draw
Ajax are playing an incredible campaign and have 10 games in a row. They also won all 6 of their Champions League group stage games, while Benfica have somewhat struggled of late, conceding at least once in each of their last six games, winning just 2 of their last 5.
